Sympathetically renovated house in centre of small attractive village close to Dinan. Light and airy rooms. Fully equipped with modern conveniences St Helen is approximately 6 km from Dinan – less than 10 minutes easy drive. The approach to Dinan from this direction gives the most stunning view of the town set on its hilltop high above the river Rance. As you approach the viaduct spanning the river you can see the domes and spires of the town immediately ahead of you. Just before crossing the viaduct you can opt to go downhill to the old port area with its tiny hump back bridge and waterfront restaurants, cafés and bars

From the port you can walk up the ancient, cobbled and very steep rue Jerzual, lined with timber framed and geranium hung houses, restaurants and craft shops. This will lead you into the medieval heart of Dinan. However, it is a long haul – not to be tackled by the fainthearted! For the less fit it is easier to drive into the town centre where you are only a few minutes walk from the stunning old buildings that make up the centre of this delightful town

Situated on the north east side of Dinan, St Helen is only 25 minutes from the ferry port at St Malo and from the magnificent clean sandy beaches of the north Breton coast

Ground floor : Living room with log burning stove, satellite TV, DVD player. Dining area for 6, kitchen area equipped with electric oven, hob and hood, microwave oven, fridge, washing machine

First floor : Double bedded room; bunk bedded room; bathroom with bath, washbasin & WC

Second floor : Large twin bedded room with en-suite shower room/WC.

Heating throughout by electric wall mounted convector heaters. Heated towel rails in bathrooms

Exterior : There is a door from the living room to the exterior and steps up to the gravelled garden which is at first floor level

Parking : Large, free car park opposite house in front of church

The Area

The pretty village of St Helen is approximately 6 km from Dinan – less than 10 minutes easy drive.
Village amenities include a recreation ground with tennis court, basket ball court and five a side soccer pitch. There is also a boules court by the church car park and the house has a set of boules and a couple of tennis rackets so you can make full use of these facilities.
The nearby Coëtquen forest, a few minutes walk away, has well marked trails for walking, cycling and horse riding.
The village has a large, friendly, bar, the St Helen, just two doors from the house, with dart board, pool table etc. You can also buy your bread and croissants here.
There is a village shop for basic provisions. The nearest supermarkets and restaurants are at Lanvallay, Pleudihen or Dinan, all just a few minutes drive.
St Helen is an attractive and peaceful village set in beautiful countryside but with very easy access to the lively town of Dinan and only 20 minutes from fabulous beaches.

Access

The drive from Cherbourg and Caen is about 2 ½ hours. From Roscoff 2 hours. From Calais 3 – 4 hours.
